A Brief Outline of our Mission & Technology
Mission
Endoria Energy aims to introduce Ultra-Deep Geothermal Energy (Enhanced Geothermal Systems) to mainland Europe, starting with a pilot project in the Province of Zeeland, The Netherlands.
Endoria Energy’s initiative perfectly aligns with the province’s official roadmap available at Zeeland 2050, which explicitly highlights the ambition of the province to position Zeeland as a cleaner, greener 'Green Energy Port' for The Netherlands. This region is a logical starting point for an UDG/EGS-plant because its massive concentration of heavy industry urgently requires a continuous, sustainable baseload power source to successfully transition away from fossil fuels.
Endoria Energy operates on the philosophy that the enormous amount of energy derived from UDG/EGS can be unleashed and harnessed at virtually any desired location worldwide by drilling deep enough, even at 'less favorable' geological locations where supercritical water is only available at depths never reached prior to the introduction of UDG/EGS-principles.
Technology
To achieve this, conventional rotary drilling techniques are used, methods that OOS Energy has applied for many years in the conventional oil industry. Endoria intends to work with a closed-loop system. OOS Energy reached an ultimate depth of 11.2 km in the Gulf of Mexico. However, because drilling will take place in superheated formations (target: 400°- 600°C), the technique has been significantly modified and optimized using state-of-the-art, high-quality technologies.
Dissolved elements (such as NaCl/KCl, sulfides, SiO2, CaCO3, and heavy metals) react exponentially more aggressively in supercritical water. In addition, the expansion and contraction of the borehole due to the extreme heat are substantial,
leaving the casing and couplings under severe stress. These challenges are being addressed through specially designed equipment and high-temperature technologies under development with specialist partners.
